Overview

Alchemists are skilled chemists who combine potion brewing with powerful chemical techniques. Their ability to create consumables, use specialized skills, and command a Homunculus gives them a unique playstyle unlike any other class.

In combat, Alchemists rely on offensive chemical skills, item-based abilities, and their Homunculus to overcome enemies. As their Homunculus grows stronger, it becomes an increasingly important part of their combat strategy.

Outside of combat, Alchemists are known for crafting useful items and supporting both themselves and their party. Their mix of resource management, companion progression, and utility makes them a rewarding class for players who enjoy planning ahead and developing both their character and their Homunculus.

After reaching Base Level 99 and Job Level 50, Alchemists can transcend and begin a new journey through a stronger High-class path. By advancing through the transcendent route and reaching Second Class once again, they can evolve into Biochemist.

4. After passing the quiz, head to the next room to the south and talk to the Studying Man (alde_alche 13/15)Copied. He will explain the basics of potion creation.

Tip

You can skip directly to the final job change (Step 16) by selecting "Tell me more about flowers." when you first speak with the Studying Man. When he asks for the Illusion Flower, choose "I brought it to give to you."

5. If you are not using the Illusion Flower shortcut, gather the following materials and return to the Studying Man. He will use them to demonstrate the potion creation process before testing your knowledge.

  • 3 Empty Bottles
  • 3 Medicine Bowls

6. Watch the demonstration carefully, as you will immediately take a practical quiz based on the potion creation process. Answer every question correctly to receive 1 Red Potion**, 1 Yellow Potion, and 1 White Potion.

8. Travel to the city of Alberta and enter the Alberta Manor (alberta 102/222)Copied. Head to the 2nd floor, right-side room to talk to Louitz (alberta_in 133/55)Copied. He will direct you to find clues in Geffen.

9. In Geffen, talk to Aure Dupon (geffen 181/114)Copied near the eastern Kafra staff. He tells you to seek out the scientist Morgenstein.

10. Meet Morgenstein (geffen_in 141/140)Copied on the 2nd floor of the Geffen Blacksmith Guild (southeastern building). Listen to his discovery notes regarding Counteragents and Mixtures.

11. Back to Experiment Expert (alde_alche 79/19)Copied. He will ask two questions to confirm that you learned how to create Counteragent and Mixture from Morgenstein. Answer both correctly to continue your training.

14. Head to Juno and enter the building in the southwestern part of the city. Speak with Bajin (yuno_in 100/153)Copied and Bain (yuno_in 100/157),Copied then hand over all of the required materials. They will attempt to create Gold through an experiment. The result is random, but any outcome counts as a successful attempt and allows you to continue.

15. Return to Al De Baran and speak with Chief Researcher (alde_alche 145/19)Copied again. After confirming that you helped Bain and Bajin, he will instruct you to speak with the Master Alchemist on the second floor.

Final Job Change

16. Head to the second floor of the Alchemist Guild and speak with the Master Alchemist (alde_alche 101/184)Copied to complete the job change and become an Alchemist.
