Weather System

Weather System

Summary: The Weather System adds changing weather effects to different maps, with certain conditions providing temporary stat bonuses. This gives players another reason to explore different areas and make use of the current weather.

Overview

Currently, Rain is the only available weather condition. The Weather System adds dynamic weather effects to maps across the world, with certain conditions providing temporary stat bonuses to players in affected areas.

The system makes maps feel more dynamic while giving players another reason to explore different areas and take advantage of the current weather.

Rain Buffs

Rain has three intensity levels, with each level providing different bonus rates:

Rain Intensity Bonus Rate
Light Rain 1% - 4%
Heavy Rain 1% - 24%
Very Heavy Rain 1% - 50%

The weather system checks each map every 30 minutes. If Rain is active during the check, the map remains rainy for the next 30 minutes. Rain can range from Light Rain to Very Heavy Rain, with the visual density of the raindrops changing according to the current Rain intensity.

Players receive the rain buff while inside a map affected by Rain. When Rain occurs, the system randomly selects one of three available buffs:

Bonus Description
Movement Speed
Increases character movement speed while on a map affected by Rain.
Drop Rate
Increases the item drop rate from monsters while on a map affected by Rain.
Exp Rate
Increases Base and Job Exp gained from monsters while on a map affected by Rain.

The active rain buff is displayed on the player's interface with a raindrop icon alongside the specific buff icon.

When Rain starts, the active bonus rate is displayed in the chat box so players can see the current bonus.

Each map can have its own weather configuration and Rain intensity. Players can take advantage of the active weather buff to improve their hunting, farming, and other activities.

Sun and Moon Cycle

The Sun and Moon Cycle automatically switches between two identical maps based on the server time. Currently, this feature is only available in Comodo Town and will be expanded to other maps in the future.

During the cycle change, players are automatically moved between the daytime and nighttime versions of the map. Their current coordinates are preserved so they remain in the same position after the map switch.

Day and night versions of Comodo Town

The system uses two separate maps:

Cycle Map Time
Day comodo 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Night n_comodo 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM
