Marking System
Marking System
Summary: The Marking System, known in-game as Ping, is a custom skill that lets a Party Leader mark a monster or a ground location for their party to see. It's built for MVP hunting, dungeon coordination, and instance play, where calling out a target quickly matters.
Learning the Skill
The basic Ping skill is taught by an NPC in Prontera, free of charge.
- Once learned, it appears under the Etc. tab of your skill tree.
- Players holding a Donation Ticket are automatically offered extra customization options by the same NPC.
Using the Skill
Only the Party Leader can use Ping. If a non-leader or a solo player tries to use it, the skill simply fails.
Marks are visible and audible only to members of that party.
- Monster Ping: marks a monster, the mark stays until the monster dies or the ping is cleared.

- Ground Ping: marks a spot on the ground for 10 seconds (server-configurable).

- Overwriting: placing a new Monster Ping replaces the previous one, same for Ground Ping, only one of each can be active at a time.

Visual and Sound Effects
Pings show a visual effect on the marked monster or ground spot, and can optionally play a sound. Which effect and sound play depends on whether you're using the default Ping or a premium one unlocked through a Donation Ticket. Sound can be toggled on or off from the global settings.
Commands
@ping: instantly places a Ground Ping at your current location, useful for a quick alert without needing to select a target. Runs on its own 5-second cooldown, separate from the skill's cooldown.@pinginfo: toggles chat notifications for pings on or off, saved per character.
Info
With chat notifications on, pings show up in chat like this:
Player A pinged Phreeoni (HP 77%)
Player A pinged comodo 100,120
Automatic Cleanup
A ping doesn't always need to be manually cleared, it clears itself under a few conditions:
- No damage: if a pinged monster goes untouched for a set amount of time, its ping clears automatically.
- Monster lost: a monster's ping also clears automatically if it teleports, hides, cloaks, disconnects, or dies.
