Foraging
Foraging
Summary Foraging is a life skill activity that allows players to gather plants, vegetables, fruits, herbs, and other natural resources. Most gathered items are used for Cooking, while some can also be used as healing materials. All foraged items are tradable with other players. Unlike Mining and Fishing, Foraging includes a rank progression system that unlocks better items as you gain experience.
Location
Once you reach Job Level 10 as a Novice, talk to Gordon Greensides. Before leaving the map, he will give you a guidebook called Wild Harvests. The book unlocks the Foraging skill, but it can only be learned after changing to a first class.
How It Works
Use the Wild Harvests guidebook to instantly learn the Foraging life skill. The skill can be found in the Etc tab of your skill window.

Use the Foraging skill on special Foraging nodes found in open world maps. There is a chance to discover a rare node. Rare nodes are not visually different from normal nodes until interacted with, but they allow 4 additional gathers before disappearing. When a rare node is discovered, a 6x6 area map broadcast will announce the map coordinates where it was found.
Foraging Nodes
There are 3 types of foraging node you can gather with your Foraging skill:
- Proudful Thistle
- Humble Thorn
- Lavish Weed
These nodes share the same loot pool and functionality. The only differences are their appearance and name.
Foraging Rank
Foraging has a unique rank progression system. Your rank determines:
- The variety of items you can gather
- The quantity of items dropped
- The drop rate of rare herbs and materials
You gain 5 Foraging EXP every time you successfully gather from a node.
You can check your current Foraging Rank and EXP by using @foraging.
