Overview
Sages are magic users who specialize in elemental manipulation, magical support, and countering enemy spellcasters. Rather than relying solely on offensive magic, they use a wide range of tools to adapt to different combat situations, making them valuable members of any party. Through their mastery of the elements, Sages can enhance allies with elemental enchantments, allowing them to exploit enemy weaknesses more effectively. Their anti-magic abilities, including Spell Breaker, Magic Rod, and Dispell, enable them to disrupt enemy casters and neutralize magical threats before they become a danger to the party.
Sages also possess unique techniques such as Free Cast, which allows them to maintain mobility while casting spells, giving them greater freedom to reposition during battle. In addition, they can call upon elemental summons and imbue armor with elemental properties,
After reaching Base Level 99 and Job Level 50, Sages can transcend and begin a new journey through a stronger High-class path. By advancing through the transcendent route and reaching Second Class once again, they can evolve into Scholar.

- Pay 70,000 Zeny, or
- Submit:
- 1 Old Magicbook
- 1 Necklace of Wisdom
If you cannot afford the full tuition fee, you may choose a discounted registration option.
Requirements:
- Pay 30,000 Zeny
- Provide one randomly assigned item set
Possible item sets:
- 50 Feather of Birds, 50 Fluff, and 25 Iron Ore
- 50 Clover, 50 Feather, and 25 Squid Ink

Once you have gathered the assigned materials and paid the discounted fee, you may continue with the Sage registration process.
Characters who reach Job Level 50 are exempt from all registration requirements and may proceed immediately.

The written examination consists of 20 questions, with each correct answer worth 5 points. A minimum score of 80 points is required to pass and proceed to the next stage of the Sage Job Change quest.

After passing, speak with Practical Examination Professor again to begin the skill test.

Speak to the Practical Examination Professor to enter the waiting room. When it is your turn, join the chat room to begin the combat examination. The test consists of three rounds, each with a three-minute time limit.

The first round requires you to defeat a group of aggressive Chonchons and Fabres. These monsters are relatively weak and can be defeated with basic offensive spells or melee attacks.

In the second round, you will face several Lunatics. While only a few appear initially, they will rapidly multiply into a much larger group if not dealt with quickly. Defeat all Lunatics within the time limit to proceed.

The final round pits you against a group of five Whispers. Only the Whisper located in the center is the real target. Once the correct Whisper is defeated, the remaining Whispers will disappear and the test will be cleared.

Return to the Practical Examination Professor and speak with him again.

For the final portion of the examination, you will be assigned to one of three professors. Each professor specializes in a different field of study and requires a different task before allowing you to proceed.
History Professor
The History Professor will test your knowledge of Yggdrasil and the history of the world.
11A. Head to the History Department and speak with History Professor .
12A. He will ask for an item related to Yggdrasil. Any of the following items will work:
- 1 Yggdrasil Leaf
- 1 Yggdrasil Berry
- 1 Yggdrasil Seed
The Yggdrasil Leaf is usually the easiest option since it can be purchased from NPC vendors.
After receiving the item, the professor will begin his lecture. Once he finishes, gather the following materials:
- 1 Feather of Birds
- 1 Trunk
- 1 Squid Ink
- 1 Animal Skin
- 1 Empty Bottle
Turn in the materials and complete the essay.

Turn in the materials and complete the essay.
Note: Taking too long to answer the examination questions may cause the test to time out, requiring you to provide the requested materials again.

14. Bring the Thesis Book to Dean of the Academy . Submit your thesis for evaluation, and upon approval, you will officially become a Sage.
